Rangers Bitch Slap Sean Avery

Ouch. You think you're a major contributor to a team's slight post-season success, the local press loves you and you score a totally amazingly hot sex goddess of a girlfriend.

Then the issue of money gets involved and it's all downhill from there. Suddenly you're a detriment to the team.

That sucks for Sean Avery. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

1) It remains to be seen if this leaves a scar. Knowing Avery, it won't be forgotten
2) It sucks when bad things happen to good people, huh? LOL
3) Not to worry no matter how his arbitration goes Sean will be a multimillionaire and still have that "totally amazingly hot sex goddess of a girlfriend."
4) Here's another question. Who/why was the Team's salary arbitration brief leaked to the press??

#4 is a very, very good question. I've never heard anything but numbers come out of arbitration hearings, let alone the briefs before the hearing happens.

1) Yeah, he seems like such an easy-going, live-and-let-live kind of person.
2) I'm glad somebody caught that.
3) True. I'm not exactly feeling sorry for him either.
4) And to the New York Post, no less.

the info probably came from Avery.

arbitration is a strange beast - teams have to go in there and basically convince a judge that the player isn't as good as the player thinks. such a bizarre process.

Not only that, but they have to convince a judge that the player isn't as good as the player thinks, but they still want him on their team.

I need to get a job as a sports arbitration judge. Talk about drama!

I would agree that Avery leaked the numbers, which will hurt him in the end...

This entire issue has been an inspiring one -- I didn't understand at first why Glenny and the Blueshirts (sounds like a great Elton John song) would benefit from this strategy, but the reasons for arbitration are true. He can be and has demonstrated instability as a team player... Questions? He inspired a team last half-season, but ultimately in the playoffs completely missed the mark -- didn't deliver. Sather may be thinking one-more-year to see how unstable he can become - or whether he turns on his own players, dare we mention the Kings!?

One thing we know about this guy through all of his 'vanity press' -he wants to remain a Ranger because he found his home -- with the fans.

Let's wait another year to see if the team wants him around for a longer contract.

(fun stuff)

The deafening silence you hear is the sound of my not giving a squirt about any 'injustices' prosecuted against Avery...
