“Bettman has only a marginal interest in the weaker teams. He only wants the NHL to make a bigger profit as a whole.” -- Dominik Hasek

Representative Government Defeats Water Fowl 5-3

It seems we may actually have a series after all. Despite the long odds against recovering from a 2-0 deficit in a Stanley Cup Finals series, the Senators struck back hard against the Ducks in a game filled with controversy, animosity, and the playing of hockey. Lots of hockey.

Daniel Alfredsson finally scored for Ottawa, but had to use a lucky bounce off his skate to do it. Some would say he kicked it. Toronto says they're wrong, so shut up. And in other controversial news, Chris Pronger will probably be suspended AGAIN for a nasty elbow to Dean McAmmond's head in the third period. But before he went off to the land of chronic headaches and ammonia sniffers, McAmmond scored the game winner at 18:34 in the second by bouncing the puck off of Pronger and into the net. I wonder if that had something to do with the hit...

The teams face each other again in Ottawa on Monday, where the Senators will once again try to defy their almost certain defeat at the hands (wings?) of small, waterproof birds.

I wish I would have seen the game. However, someone in Utah decided that it would be more important to air a six hour telethon instead of Game 3 on NBC last night. Needless to say, I was very upset.

I live in a similar non-hockey market, so I totally understand. There were several games during the regular season that the NBC affiliate in my city decided not to air in favor of infomercials. At least they seem to run the playoffs with some regularity.

How is the NHL supposed to attract new fans if NBC affiliates black out the games? I know, I know, same old argument. I get told all the time about being a fan of a niche sport, it just gets so tiring. People don't know what they are missing. (I really hate Gary Bettman)

Anyway, for the game, it certainly was a good one to be on NBC with the back and forth goal scoring. I dunno, I thought Alfredsson's goal was questionable but I'm not Toronto. Anyone else find it annoying that Brett Hull talks about how it should not have been a goal? I want to ask him where his foot is!

Brett Hull has pretty much lost all right to speak about anything. He's a horrible commentator.

Pretty cool place you've got here. Thanx for it. I like such themes and everything connected to this matter. I would like to read more on that blog soon.

Truly yours
